Mitchell Special MKII is fastest vehicle in group at Oulton Park on 21st August!

Being the fastest of the 1950's team challenge vehicles, Andy was exceptionally with his first victory! Lap times were down at one minute and eighteen seconds, a totally superb result!

Andy has gone and added a strip around the nose and changed the interior of nose to black. Changes appearance more than you would expect and - whisper it quietly - looks better.

Am awaiting the results, but by all accounts Andy was very happy with the new engine.

.......can't say too much at the moment, but the Mitchell Special MKII is soon to be featured in a respected UK magazine.

Mitchell Special MKII on a rolling road

As the power curve below shows, the supercharger is doing its stuff....tragically but in a weird way fortuitously the head gasket blew and it turned out to be a known issue with this type of engine, easily solved with increased reliability when racing. Hopefully!

It took Andy quite a while to get home from the testing firm though, filling up lemonade bottles full of water at random places as he gravitated towards his home!

The Eaton supercharger arrives

An Eaton supercharger from a Mercedes-Benz coupled with DCOE Weber carbs equals in theory a big increase in horsepower....tragically it equals a big decrease in Andy's bank balance as a new crank, pistons and various other specialist parts are required to handle the increase in power.

Goodwood track day - Car is 12 seconds...yes 12 seconds a lap faster than the old vehicle.

Been informed by Andy that he is going to fit a supercharger soon......
